#RAKW: Walking Shoes

#RAKW

Last week I met my friend in downtown Toronto. She was wearing high heels. She whipped a pair of flip-flops out of her tiny purse and consequently had to carry her heels. This wasn’t much of an inconvenience for her.

As we were walking along Yonge Street we stopped in a sports apparel store. One of the gentlemen working came to say hello and asked if we needed any help. We declined his offer. He saw my friend carrying her shoes and offered to get her a bag. She let out a laugh and said “YES, please!”

As he walked away we were gushing about how nice this man was. He came back and my friend told him that he was the best. He had a giant smile on his face.

As we left the store we kept talking about this man who gave her a plastic bag … it’s just a plastic bag! It really wasn’t that big of a deal. This man’s small random act of kindness made my friend’s day, but it also made mine. Watching someone be kind for no reason at all provides everyone with a little more hope and happiness.

Happy Random Act of Kindness Wednesday!
